Hi!
Fantastic website and terrific resource! My students loved it! On your light maze experiment though, it says that the speed of light is 299,792,458 miles per second. That is not correct. It is 299,792,458 METERS per second, or 186,282 miles per second.

Sorry to be picky, but I'm a science teacher and I used your experiment in class. I was not the one who saw your error originally, it was one of my seventh grade students. Now I know that they were paying attention!

This is a great project for a school science fair, I did this with my 2 friends and it went great! we used lemon juice instead of vinegar because my friend was very allergic to strong acidic smells.
this was a good project !

In reply to Nancy Jamison. Just did this with my daughter. She put way too many drops in so it's just a dark cup of water with oil on top which she keeps dipping her fingers into. She gets excited. She tried to use the entire bottle of food coloring instead of a couple drops at a time. She gets excited. 9/10 would definitely recommend

I was so excited to see the post re: fireworks in a glass! I try really hard to teach my 2 younger grandchildren and let them have at fun simple science experiments. I used to make slime back 30 years ago with borax and glue. I learned something new when your reading the facts and what makes it work! We will be building fireworks in a glass on New Years Day! Love your ideas and using with a class of 30 8-9 year olds.
On the DIY simple torch the battery holders ( is it 2 AA batteries that are used?) are way out of our league for purchasing 30 of them.
Can we make our own battery holders? How?
OR - if we are using the same type of light bulbs as you are - will one AA battery suffice instead of two?

Since I had COVID my smell and taste are definitely messed up, spicy foods, chicken, peanut butter, peanuts, and other foods just taste and smell nasty. However, if I hold my nose I can eat them. As soon as I let go the nasty taste returns. Oddly enough it doesn’t effect sweets.

I am very keen to see science activities developed for children, however as this is a "science" game that is trying to teach insect anatomy to children it would be good if you could correct the anatomy in your picture above. The legs attach to the Thorax not to the abdomen. What you have labelled the Thorax is actually the pronotum.

Great starter for many experiments and investigations. Important to remember though that weight doe snot affect how fast something falls. The shape of the falling object determines the magnitude of the air resistance so different objects do fall at different speeds. However, if weight is the only difference between the objects, Galileo taught us that they will fall at the same speed.

I work for Kirklees Museums. As part of our pledge to Culture Declares Climate Emergency I am getting together a museum in a box that will help young and old to understand climate change. I have looked at lots of information, on many different sites, but yours seems the clearest, easy to understand and beautifully illustrated. I wondered if it would be possible to have a printable version of your climate change materials to add to the box. This will be used in our Culture Declares Climate Emergency pop up shop in Huddersfield and will be available for free loan to schools and other community groups.
